Bastardy

In Canberra at the National Sound and Film Arc, I saw a remarkable film Bastardy, that is now to be shown this thursday on ABC 1.

There is a review in the Weekend Australian TV review.

A remarkable documentary about a remarkable aboriginal actor Jack Charles and his life and times. He was at the Canberra screening.

The film covers his life, homelessness, thieving, jail, heroin, and homosexuality and his acting, the first aboriginal theatre group, the Pram, staring in films such as Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith and his on going activism.
Great sound track.

Shows what you can do and have it on TV. I hope it was not censored.
